'Thank you so much again for sharing your laughter program at the Carers Repite Expo. The feedback from your session is so positive and many people have mentioned how much they benefited from having the opportunity to laugh and learn a little about the benefits of laughter.'

A little about Bron Roberts - Australia's original 'Laughter Lady'

Beginning her health and well-being journey in 1976, Bron trained as a meditation instructor working with high needs, immediate post trauma rehabilitation clients. It quickly became obvious to her that traditional meditation and stress management practices were of limited benefit in such a high stress environment and she began developing her unique, user-friendly meditation and humour-based stress-management programs.  The programs quickly proved effective with both clients and their carers, and continue to benefit even the busiest, most distracted or highly stressed of individuals.

Bron pioneered the use of therapeutic laughter in Australia in 1998 when she included laughter, laughter meditation and laughter yoga exercises in her popular stress management and work/life balance programs.  She quickly gained a reputation as an expert in her field and clients and collegues alike nick-named her 'The Laughter Lady'.

In 2004 Bron founded a weekly community laughter club in Mitcham in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.  The club is now in its 8th year under her leadership.  In 2005 she qualified as one of Australia’s first fully certified Laughter Yoga Leader Trainers, and in 2006, in recognition for her work in promoting Laughter Yoga around Australia and in South-East Asia, was named as one of only 6 Laughter Yoga International Laughter Ambassadors. She provides laughter leader training around Australia and is a popular mentor for laughter leaders around Australia, in South East Asia, America and the USA.  She is the only Australian laughter presenter to hold gold membership of the Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humour, is a member of the International Positive Psychology Association, a member of National Speakers Australia, an International Laughter Yoga Ambassador and an Australian representative for Laughter Yoga International.  When it comes to experience and expertise, there are few, if any, that come close.

Bron has been known as 'Australia's Laughter Lady' for over a decade and in October 2011 she was delighted to be named as a Kraft Vegemite 'Toast of a Nation' winner in recognition of her work in promoting the health and well-being benefits of laughter and smiling around Australia.

Bron is the laughter ‘expert’ of choice for print, radio and television providers. Recent media interviews include the ABC’s Insiders program, Melbourne’s ABC 774, ABC local in Tasmania and central Queensland, SEA FM, NOVA, LION FM and Radio NZ.  She has appeared in print in the Australian, the Melbourne Age, the 'RACV Magazine', 'Vital Magazine', 'MindFood', 'Australian Women's Health' and 'Diabitic Living' and 'Shine' - the members magazine for HBA and MBF.  She has shared her laughter techniques on several lifestyle reality shows and is the 'laughter provider of choice' for many media students, appearing in 3 final year media documentaries in 2011 alone.  She is also a contributing author to 2 upcoming books, one focusing on health and well-being and the other on Humour in the education sector.

Her impressive list of clients includes community, health, education, industry and corporate clients in every state of Australia, in south east Asia an most recently in California, Nevada, New York and Orlando in the USA.  Recently she shared her unique programs with the staff and inmates at the women's and men's maximum security prison's, programs that were so well received they have now become regular events.
