Australia's leading provider of health and wellbeing through laughter and humour programs

2011 - our year in review

Let’s Laugh celebrates 2011.

Wow! That all there is to say really. What a year we'v e had.

It has been a real year of travel for our Chief Happiness Officer:

January saw her working with clients in Sydney and Melbourne.  Bondi Beach is a beautiful place to run a corporate Laughter program.

Bron has trained 31 Age Care Laughter Leaders, in Ballan, Melbourne and Sydney, 19 regionally based community laughter leaders and 22 city based Leaders, in Melbourne and Sydney.

March took her to Brisbane and again to Sydney, and for a fun filled 3 days in Bingara, just out of Tamworth.  There was an in-house bet that she wouldn't be able to make 400 of our leading meat producers laugh at the Meat and Livestock Australia Meat Profit Day.  We're pleased to say that the bet was lost, she got them ALL laughing, and has made some long term laughter friends in the cattle and sheep industry!

April saw her take to the sky's for a fun filled week of sharing her 'health and well-being through laughter programs' in New York City and then onto Orlando Florida where she attended the annual conference of the Association of Applied and Therapeutic Humor (AATH).  In Orlando she also began her first year of 'Humor Academy' study through the University of Portland / AATH / Humour Quest, and caught up with the latest research and strategies in laughter and humour as they relate to individual and corporate health and well-being, thank you to some of the world's leading researchers in these fields for your generosity in taking time to share your skills.

March and April also saw her donating her skills as the lead laughter coach for the Make a Wish Foundation's Laugh for Kids day.

May saw a wonderful week touring outback NSW as a guest of the Royal Flying Doctor Service Feed the Dog regional depression program, another 3 weeks of Melbourne based corporate and community clients, and she headed back to prison to share some laughter with the women and staff at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.

Early June surprised us all with 2 entertainment / speakers agencies offering to share our unique programs to their broad base of clients.  Thank you also to the Lake House in Daylesford for continuing to offer our programs as a part of their popular conference packages.

July was more Melbourne based with just 1 interstate trip.  The first 2 weeks of the new financial year were, as is usual, fairly quiet but by week 3 - wow!

The last 2 weeks in July and the first 3 weeks in August were our busiest time yet.  In just 41 days our Cheif Happiness Officer has visited 52 different groups in 47 different organisations.

September saw Bron take our programs to clients in Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and October saw her enjoying a fun filled 4 days in Rockhampton, as well as a few days working in beautiful Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, Ballarat and of course her home base, Melbourne.

October, being known as work safe month saw Bron taking laughter and meditation into organisations in Melbourne and Sydney and she also took a unusual number of requests for humour based team building.  It was also one of our most exciting months ever when Bron was named as a 2012 Kraft Vegemite 'Toast of a Nation' winner in recognition of her work in promoting health and well-being through laughter and humour around Australia.

November saw many clients requesting mulitple progams either at single offices or at different venues in the one city.  We broke all our previous presentation records with one client booking 5 x 60 minute programs at 2 venues on the one day.

December is fully booked with the few remaining stress management programs, loads of corporate Christmas party's and 2 hen's days presentations.  Bron had better get that bike out to cycle off all that party food!

Apart from her Humor Academy studies Bron is also completing a degree in Human Behaviour (Psych) and in  2012 will again be studying under the guidance of Tal Ben-Shahar to complete a course in Positive Pyshcology (Happiness).

With our diary complete for 2012 our records show that Bron has presented her popular Health and Well-being through Laughter and Meditation workshops with 97 different different organisations, in 6 cities in 3 states in Australia as well as in New York and Orlando in the USA.  By her last booking on December 23 she will have presented 254 laughter programs, focusing on stress management, health and well-being and team building, and run 28 meditation programs, in all types of venues and for all types of organisations.

Her community Laughter Club, Mitcham in Melbourne's eastern suburbs is still going strong, having celebrated it's 7th birthday in August with much laughter and fun, and the face book pages 'Global Laughter Network' and 'Smile Project' continue to enjoy her support.

It's also been a big year for media for Bron.  2011 saw (or heard) her sharing details on the benefits of laughter and humour with ABC 774, LION FM, ABC regional radio in NSW and Tasmania and Radio NZ.  Her laughter and humour programs continue to be popular with final year media students from Swinburne and RMIT and she has or will be appearing in 3 final year documentaries and also had the fun of sharing laughter in an arts project in Melbourne and an arts film due to be shown in a gallery event in New York in early 2012.  She has written articles which are to appear in 2 books on health and well-being and a book on Humour Studies, all being published in early 2012, and has been published in the Melbourne Age, the April edition of Diabetic Living Australia, 'Shine' the members magazine for MBF and HBA and the November edition of Australian Health and Wellbeing magazine.

2012 if off to a brilliant start with bookings as far ahead as November plus Bron has been invvited to present a 1 hour workshop on cultural differences in humour at the 25th annual AATH conference being held in Chicago.

Once again, and as always, our heart felt thanks go out to you, our wonderful clients and all who are continuing to enjoy our programs and workshops.  The only marketing we employ is our website and the recommendations and referrals we receive from clients and participants.  We thank you for letting us know how much you enjoyed our programs through your feedback and for sharing your experiences with those who you are in contact with, what we call feed forward.
